I would think that the SB build is both easier and *safer* than the 55 build... if you get rended in uw you still have enough hp to PS and SB without dying.

I think it's also a consensus among the SB users now that it's better to have ~300-400 hp than 600. Another boon of the Spirit Bond build is that you can use SB *and* still deal decent amounts of damage. I'm really eager to try out the SB build once we get favor.

EDIT: The part where I say "Spirit Bond and SB" I mean Spirit Bond and Spellbreaker.

well yeah it was spirit bond =/
but i was thinking overall killing not just UW say... farming... trolls i havent tried SB build yet and know its pretty simple with the 55.

What will kill trolls faster SB or 55?

can anyone test this for me?

The SB can't be used in as many places as the 55hp build.
But for the places it can be used, it works good.

I still prefer the 55hp build.

after reading guildwiki i have actually combined the 2. now for my 55 i carry spirit bond in place of mending and healing breeze. for some reason if the damage BEFORE prot spirit is over 60 then spirit bond kicks in and heals. so if the dmg ATER prot spirit is 5 but BEFORE prot spirit was 80 then it heals. it's quite cool really. saves points in healing and allows more for divine favor or prot prayers. but it IS a little more of a gamble with trolls. the trolls themselves are fine but the avicara rangers are hard to deal with bc they use dual shot which lowers their dmg below 60 so it wont activate. but trolls themselves i find dont go faster on either build. its just safer to get there using 55. but still not hard with an SB build.

EDIT: I would say a spirit bond build with 500+ hp is faster where it can be used due to its ability to use retribution to increase overall dmg output.

55hp build is better vs anything
SB build is good vs high monster because they have to deal 60 and more dmg

What is a smite crawlers average damage before protective spirit through lets say 60 AL?, oh and thinking about it grasping darknesses too (no seriously what is it)
If its below 60 dmg then i guess you could wear some lions arch armour or lower....and you could have room for 1 more skill for uw duo/solo...bit risky though

i prefer sb/ps build better because its something different than the bland old 55 monk. if anybody could try sb/ps in UW i'd greatly appreciate it. i still use my 55 monk because it pwns a hell-of-alot better and its cooler

hehe 55 is certainly not cooler
i do SB/PS in UW with my guildie, and we pwn ass though im not very experienced, its real easy. we take graspings and aatxes at the same time, i dont aggro the whole chamber, coz im scared of nightmares. but they kill themselves as long as u have Spell Breaker on. (Holy Wrath and Retribution for the smiter).
when facing terrorwebs the smite mo switches out HW for Shield of Judgement, and the tank uses Backfire = kinda fast kill for terrorwebs. Coldfires are also done with Shield of Judgement, they are the slowest though.
Obsidian behemoths take some time too, about HW or shield of judgement i dunno really, and the tank mayb take cry of frustration in stead of backfire => no healing springs...
it sure is more fun to do then 55, and no stupid wanding on the nightmares needed

Or you could just take off your armor. Of course then you can only maintain 2 enchants, but against most enemies, its enough.

i wear the Shing Jea Monastery full armor (shepard's). when taking graspings and aatxes at the same time, u actually dont have to do anything special, but if u take Elemental resistance (lowering ur physical resistance) then graspings alone will do enough dmg (i like physical resistance more then frenzy)

No, it is confirmed that Frenzy doesn't affect weather spirit bond triggers or not, EX: If you would have gotten hit by 55 dmg, but got hit by 110 dmg because of frenzy, spirit bond would not trigger. This is a confirmed fact.

Sb/PS is not necisarily better then a 55hp build it can just be used in different places because SB/PS needs high dmg to stay alive most casters will be apin in the ass. but 55hps can solo there hwhere teh monsters are a bit weaker. [like those weak undergrowths].
but atm i prefer SB/PS due to being able to solo parts of GF and Naphui quarter. [more because i'm new to it]

That is incorrect it works if you trigger frenzy before spiritbond otherwise SB doesn't count the damage as double. I have tested this quite a bit and a perfect example is in uw against the grasping darkness by using spirit bond then frenzy you will slowly die, but on the other hand if you use frenzy then spirit bond you will get healed.
